Affected people complain of a burning feeling during urination, a smelly odor of the urine, and fever. Sometimes, it is asymptomatic. Antibiotic treatment is applied. Usually, the signs disappear in 1-2 days. A shorter urethra in women can also increase the speed of bacteria spreading. Called also cystitis, this condition is caused by bacteria that enter the bladder or urethra of a person.
