This is a sexually transmitted condition that results from infection getting into the urethra. It appears one to three weeks after intercourse with an affected partner. The symptoms include burning during urination, pus, reddening of the genital area in men, or vaginal bleeding in women. Sometimes, the disease is asymptomatic.
