Non Gonoccal Urethritis




Non gonoccal urethritis commonly is asymptomatic, and is not usually diagnosed with a cone biopsy or colposcopy. This infection is caused by a bacterium and is contracted through sexual contact. Prevention is easily accomplished by not having sex, wearing a condom during sexual intercourse, or by being in a mutually monogamous relationship. Seventy-five percent of women and half of men with this infection have no symptoms. Non gonoccal urethritis commonly is asymptomatic, and is not usually diagnosed with a cone biopsy or colposcopy.

Several types of germs cause NGU, the most common and serious is chlamydia, very common in both males and females. Some other causes include ureaplasma urealyticum, haemophilus vaginalis, and mycoplasma genitalius. This condition is spread through sexual contact and is easily prevented if diagnosed. Non gonoccal urethritis commonly is asymptomatic, and is not usually diagnosed with a cone biopsy or colposcopy.
