Chronic urinary tract infections are linked to the human papillomavirus and is also connected with urethritis. The pressure-regulation system of the kidneys may be scarred; it leads to blood pressure kept low (and the patient will faint) or too high (that can cause strokes and heart disorders). These problems occur only if the UTI is severe; usually it takes several months or years to develop.
